Conservative Party The People Vs Gordon Brown

This party Political Broadcast has been realized by the Conservative Party for the Political Election of 2010. It is really close to the movie style, in fact it has been realized as a mini-series where the Labour leader Gordon Brown has to deal with a jury in the curt. The camera focuses on the details of the people in the Jury and of the accused. Each detail, such as the faces, the hands and the gestures, shows the reactions of both parts, in order to make the spectators feel part of the meeting. In the meanwhile the prosecutor lists all the damages that the defendant has done during his last mandate. In other words it is like the audience has to judge the policy of the Party. At the end, the leader answers to the accuse: "I plead to the English people to do it again". Afterwards it appears Brown's face on the screen followed by all the promises he didn't keep and then the Conservative slogan state: "Or vote for change. Vote Conservative".

Storia

The Conservative Party uses once more the fictional style to involve the citizens and lead them to a rational and irrational reflection. This is possible thanks to the use of images, sounds, dialogues and editing techniques typical of the movie industry.
The negative style is not that strong and direct in the ads because the attack comes from the voters that are represented by the jury and not from the leader himself.
